Overview
Being inducted into the Troy Athens NHS comes with academic and community service responsibilities. The National Honor Society is one of the largest clubs at Athens and requires volunteering commitment if you are excepted. Being in NHS comes with honor as you are representing a national society of the best students from all around the US. That is why you must have at least a 3.5 GPA in order to apply. Applications should have been sent around to the eligible students through a Schoology group. If admitted into NHS you will be invited to an induction ceremony where you are officially accepted into the society.
What is required if you are accepted?
It is required to accumulate at least 30 hours of volunteering service while in NHS:

- 10 hours of in-school volunteering
- 10 hours of tutoring
- 5 hours of community hours
- 5 additional hours of any category
